Here are some poker tips to improve your game. Learn Another Game: Even if you play Texas hold’em most of the time, learning other games goes a long way to improving your overall performance in your game of choice. Two poker tips in one — Never Go On Tilt; Play Your Best: These two related poker tips are completely within your control. Not by a lot, but even playing poorly by a little is enough to upset the delicate balance needed win consistently. Narrow the Target: If you risk too much money in unfavorable situations, you won’t win. No poker tips are more important that those that relate to presenting a narrow target to your opponents. You can’t play hunches, make calls on hope alone, or demonstrate what a tough, tricky player you are by bluffing players who call too often. Take these two poker tips to heart:

  • You will always win more because of your opponents’ mistakes than your own strokes of genius.
  • It takes great skill to maneuver a decent player into making a serious error in judgment. It takes nothing more than basic poker technique to win extra bets from players who call when they should fold.

Play Your Best: No amount of poker tips can correct your game if you’re not willing to play your best. Don’t ever tumble down to the level of your opponents. Tell yourself it’s OK to play winning poker. Then do it.
